Fun Facts about Caroline Arnold

–was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she loved to ice skate in winter and swim in summer.

–tried to read all the books in the public library when she was in fifth grade. (She missed a few.)

–loves to travel and has been to all the continents of the world except Antarctica.

–has written more than 170 books for children.

–is an avid bird-watcher, and writes about condors, sparrows, ostriches, penguins, and even chickens.

–uses colored paper, scissors and glue to create her cut-paper art illustrations.

--has two grown children, three grandchildren, and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, a scientist at UCLA

--grew up in a settlement house with her parents, who were social workers, and three younger brothers.
